LASIK Surgery in Al Ain

About Atlanta Vision Eye Clinic

Atlanta Vision Center has quickly become one of the most respected vision centers and LASIK providers in the United Arab Emirates. Following the success of the first Dubai location, the ophthalmology team brought their services to Al Ain to help improve the vision of more patients with refractive errors.

Meet LASIK Surgeon, Dr. Ashraf

Dr. M. Farooq Ashraf is an ophthalmologist and surgeon who specializes in refractive surgery. He received his medical training at Johns Hopkins University, George Washington University and the Medical College of Ohio. Over the course of his distinguished career, he has performed over 50,000 LASIK procedures. He brought the practice he founded, the Atlanta Vision Institute, to Dubai to share his superior technique with other parts of the world.

What Is LASIK?

LASIK (laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis) is a surgery that addresses vision problems like astigmatism, nearsightedness and farsightedness so that patients can see better without having to rely on eyeglasses or contact lenses. Your ophthalmologist will use a special laser to change the curvature of your cornea, thereby improving the quality of your vision.

Who Is a LASIK Candidate?

While most patients with refractive errors are strong candidates for LASIK surgery, certain factors like having thin corneas, diabetes or eye conditions like glaucoma or cataracts may be disqualifying. Our expert team will examine the condition of your eyes and overall health during a consultation to determine that you are suitable for the procedure.

LASIK Benefits

Nearly every LASIK patient will see a marked improvement in their visual acuity and no longer need to use glasses or contacts to see on a regular basis. Although vision is blurry in the initial hours after surgery, most patients will be able to see sharply by the following day. The surgery itself is safe, quick and easy. While some patients report temporary mild discomfort, the procedure should not cause any serious pain.

Types of LASIK

The team at Atlanta Vision Center offers a few types of LASIK surgeries to best help our patients. Among the options we offer are:

Zyoptix

Zyoptix uses leading-edge technology to identify the precise imperfections on your cornea to allow your doctor to customize the procedure for optimal vision.

Intralase

IntraLase (aka IntraLASIK) is an all-laser approach to LASIK. While many procedures use a blade to create the corneal flap necessary to perform the correction, IntraLase uses a second kind of laser to create the flap, minimizing risks and complications.

LASIK XTRA

LASIK XTRA adds an extra step following traditional LASIK surgery. Before putting the corneal flap back into place, your ophthalmologist will use a riboflavin formula and some UVA light to strengthen your corneal tissue.

LASIK Cost & Insurance Options

To celebrate the grand opening of the Al Ain location, Atlanta Vision Clinic is offering LASIK at the special rate of 8000 DHS. Ordinarily, the price range is between 3000 and 7000 DHS per eye.

Because LASIK is an elective surgery, most insurance providers will not cover LASIK in full. However, many insurance plans will offer partial coverage on the procedure. At Atlanta Vision Center in Dubai, we accept several providers including: AETNA, ADNIC, DAMAN, THIQA, SAICO and INAYAH TPA (LLC).
